چکیده
Pressure-assisted single-point incremental forming (PA-SPIF) is one of the emerging techniques for sheet metals that have been subject rigorous research over past two decades. Understanding its mechanisms and capabilities growing as a result. Open gaps are still present in material constitutive modelling accurate numerical predictions finite-element simulations characteristics localised deformation behaviour SPIF different from those conventional metal forming. The current investigation focused on comparison three models analysis PA-SPIF cold-rolled, dual-phase steel DP600. Experimental trials using fluid pressures showed good agreement with simulation results discrepancies deformed blank thickness shape geometry 3–11% 10–21%, respectively. Within tested materials range parameters, fracture-forming-limit diagram (FFLD) model was identified to be superior accord experiments.

Finite element simulation of two-point incremental forming of free-form parts
Two-point incremental forming method is considered a modern technique for manufacturing shell parts. The presence of bottom punch during the process makes this technique far more complex than its conventional counterpart i.e. single-point incremental forming method. Thus, the numerical simulation of this method is an essential task, which leads to the reduction of trial/error costs, predicts th...
متن کاملThe Effects of Forming Parameters on the Single Point Incremental Forming of 1050 Aluminum Alloy Sheet
The single point incremental forming (SPIF) is one of the dieless forming processes which is widely used in the sheet metal forming. The correct selection of the SPIF parameters influences the formability and quality of the product. In the present study, the Gurson-Tvergaard Needleman (GTN) damage model was used for the fracture prediction in the numerical simulation of the SPIF process of alum...

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Finite Element Simulation of Superplastic Forming Using a Microstructure Based Constitutive Model
In this paper, Finite Element simulations using ABAQUS are carried out to optimize and simulate the superplastic forming of Ti-6Al-4V sheet at 900 °C. Microstructure-based constitutive models describing the superplastic deformation are implemented in the FE code through user defined subroutines. Two different forming schemes are used; constant strain rate scheme and optimum variable strain rate...
